Murukku sticks
Rice cup - 2 cups
Poha/ அவல்/ flatten rice - 1 cup
Roasted Dalia/ பொட்டுக்கடலை - 1 cup
Omam(Ajwin) - 1/2 teaspoon
Chilly powder - 1/2 teaspoon
Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon
Salt - 1 teaspoons & little more if needed
Oil - 1/2 litter for deep frying
Water - 4 cups
Instructions
First grind poha and roasted Dalia as fine powder.
Next boil four cups water on stovetop or microwave(lukewarm)
Take a bowl then mix rice flour and poha, Dalia powder with all spices.
Add water gradually. Add three cups water with one tablespoon hot oil. Mix it with utensil(karandi)/Spatula well. if you need more water add the remaining one cup water and knead well with your hand and make a dough.
Take a deep pan and pour oil in that pan. Take a murukku achu(mullu murukku) and apply oil or water(show it in running tap water) after draining water, fill with dough while oil getting hot. Press it in oil carefully. Wait to get crispy(when the bubbles get calm) Mullu murukku Sticks are ready now. Let them to cool and enjoy crispy murukku sticks snacks. Wonderful snacks to have with tea in evenings after work.
