Allow three whistles then switch off. In the meantime cut the vegetables, add those to cooked dal. You can pressure cook or you can cook in open wide stockpot(2 to 3 quart).
Once the vegetables cooked well add homemade chilli powder and separate chilli powder, coriander powder, gram masala powder plus tamarind juice. Mix well then add cooked little millet & salt. Let them mingle well with all spices and dal. Once you see the bubbles(boiling) allow it for two to three minutes.
If you like ghee add one tablespoon spoon. Check the consistency if it’s too thick add little more water while boiling.
Now you can enjoy. It’s a good meal.
Note.: you can cook dal and millet together in a pressure cooker for making sambar rice. If you cook millet separately you can make little millet curd rice. That’s why I cook millet separately.
You can make this millet sambar rice with Barnyard millet and Kodo millet. These millets are super good to make sambar and curd rice.
